Yes. If a client forgets to register the chip, it will ‘back track’ to your practice. However, due to the ease of use offered by the AAHA microchip tool, it is critical that clients register the pet and the microchip in their name.

In 1989, when the injectable microchip was a new idea, I was intrigued by pet identification that could not be separated from the animal. Practicing near the Gulf Coast in ‘Hurricane Alley’ was motivation enough to help design and develop this permanent ID technology.
